Since the Covid-19, Chilean education has changed from face-to-face lessons to an online modality. The country focused on students’ apprenticeship rather than the emotional impact. Therefore, the research is aimed to analyze students’ and teachers’ emotional response while learning and teaching speaking in an online environment. The findings showed that the students are emotionally affected in contrast to teachers. Furthermore, the process of developing speaking skill is also negatively influenced, and students seem to not be improving during online classes. It is believed that students might be more affected since most of them are new to the university’s system. In addition, since learning is now being performed at home, the free and work time are hardly separated which affects students’ and teachers’ performance. To conclude, the online method is new to everyone, so it might be hard to cope with. However, the educational system is constantly looking for proper ways to improve its methods
